Washington, DC test drive

We're about to head out for a test drive of Jenny's new-improved less blistered feet.

We'll head down to the National Mall, check out the East Wing of the National Gallery and then head up Rock Creek Park and see how those toes are doing.

It's raining in DC today. Tomorrow is supposed to be a fine day. Our plan is to get back on the trail tomorrow morning--heading out of DC on the C&O towpath.

  1. Hi Jenny and Rick,

This is Kathy, Ann's sister, enjoying your epic trek from the embarrassing comfort of home. I am hoping that you guys make it up to Chicago so we can wrap you in a swirl of good food and down comforters. I will massage all four of your feet. And, in the spirit of taking this as it goes... if you don't make it this far, that will be good also, right?

I have questions: Are there things you are keeping track of - like how many Band-aids are used during the journey? And what do you have in your packs?

Huge Love, Kathy (and Ander and Mackenzie)

  2. Big Hello from the Galin's. It is raining - so you must be hiking? Sorry for you, happy for us, we are warm and cozy in CT this weekend enjoying Pesach Easter bunnies....

Hope the toes are doing better - remember - we are living vicariously through you...

  3. W Virginia is very mountainous, but beautiful. I've driven through it a number of times.
I like the idea of keeping track of how many bandaids(tm) you use and what is in those packs? besides bandaids(tm) and water. And you need a more recent picture on this blog. I have that one somewhere from many years ago. The more I read, the crazier I think you are, but you have a goal and that's good. Can you cross the little toes over the ones next to them and still fit in your shoes?
    Love you!
